PLACES TO VISIT IN HONG KONG

6:18:00 PM

Annyeong!

Hong Kong is actually the third country my mother and I visited this year. “So many things to do, so little time”.... One can do more and see more --- and yet you go home realizing you still want more, it’s because there are a lot of things tourists can do and see here. So, I listed some places (that you shouldn't miss!) in order to maximize your time whenever you wanted to visit Asia’s World City, Hong Kong. It’s my treat!

THE PEAK
Address: Mid- levels, Hong Kong

"If you haven't been up The Peak, you haven't been to Hong Kong". ☝ Oh well, this wasn't actually included in our itinerary, however, mama's classmate (our tour guide as well) told us to really visit this place. Luckily, we still had enough time and decided to include this in our itinerary.

The Peak Tram Terminal

One of the bests way to reach The Peak is by riding the Peak Tram. It is less crowded in the morning, so try to get there early to avoid long waits.

Some vantage points in the Peak are the anvil-shaped tower with a large viewing platform (with fee) which is called the Sky Terrace 428, and the Peak Galleria wherein one can shop and dine with free viewing platform on the rooftop. Madame Tussauds is also located at The Peak.

Inside the Peak Tower

The Peak is popularly known as the highest point in Hong Kong Island. It is one of the most popular attractions in Hong Kong, too.

Omo!

Photo ops inside the Peak Tower

Aside from the famous view on the terrace, one can also do a lot of things at The Peak like taking photo opportunities on the 3D- trick art walls, shopping at The Peak Market, and dine at a famous restaurant like Bubba Gump.
.
It's free!

Say I Love You at The Peak!

Upon reaching the terrace, you'll have an incredible, stunning, remarkable views of the Victoria Harbour, the sparkling skyscrapers, and the green hills of the New Territories. It is indeed the landmark of Hong Kong's skyline. What a jaw-dropping view!

The view that took my breath away!
HOW TO GET THERE?

It was included in my bucket lists actually, (hihi) and I was so happy that I was able to visit  and enjoy this place last August.

All smiles even though we're very nervous inside! Haha! This is actually our first ever cable car ride experience!

Stage 360 ✌

The path to the Big Buddha are flanked on both sides by the Twelve Divine Generals. According to my research, each of the Twelve Divine Generals that guard the statue, symbolizes a different animal from the Chinese Zodiac, and is armed with a particular weapon.

AROUND TSIM SHA TSUI
Address: Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

Clock Tower
Since the hotel where we stayed is located at Tsim Sha Tsui, mama and I took a stroll around the area. We were surprised that a lot of attractions like the colonial-era Clock Tower, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Space Museum and the famous Avenue of Stars can be found here, and it's only just a walk away from our hotel. (Lucky! hihi)

The Peninsula Hotel

Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) district is situated in the heart of Kowloon Peninsula. It is one of the most famous and bustling districts of Hong Kong. It is also considered as the entertainment, shopping and dining hub in the peninsula.

Hong Kong Space Museum
In Tsim Sha Tsui, one can also have a full view of the Victoria Harbour and at the same time, one can also enjoy the scenic view of the nightly multimedia show, A Symphony of LightsOmo, Tsim Sha Tsui has really a lot to offer, that's why you shouldn't miss this place, too.

Note:
The Avenue of Stars has been closed for renovation since October 2015 and is estimated to be completed around the end of 2018.

HOW TO GET THERE?
  • MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station Exit E. Walk towards Salisbury Road then turn right, take subway (pedestrian tunnel) next to YWCA to Hong Kong Cultural Centre, then walk to the Star Ferry Pier; or,

HONG KONG PARKS
Address: 19 Cotton Tree Drive, Central, Hong Kong Island (Hong Kong Park)
Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon (Kowloon Park)

Hong Kong Park
Hong Kong Park is a noteworthy place to visit as this park will impress our eyes to an oasis of green lush in an urban setting.  According to Hong Kong Tourism Board, the park features an aviary, a greenhouse, the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, fountains, lily ponds, playgrounds, a restaurant and even a marriage registry. The aviary also features more than 80 species of birds in a well-designed tropical ‘rain forest’.

This park is a must visit since you will be amazed on how superb this park was constructed. See that flowing water on the stairs? Isn't it amazing?

When visiting here, be sure to take nothing but pictures, and leave nothing but footprints. This park has a lot to offer---  from enjoying the tranquil and serene beauty of the place and by taking photo ops which I say is, Instagram worthy! Yay! (hihi)

One should also be responsible in handling one's garbage. We should throw our garbage in its proper place so that we, tourists, can also help in preserving this area.

Kowloon Park
Kowloon Park is also a must visit park because you will be caressed with its own charm. According to Hong Kong Tourism Board, this peaceful place was actually once an army fortress that was handed over by the military for public use in 1970.

Actually, there are still a lot of beautiful places to visit in Hong Kong like the Ocean Park Hong Kong, Temple Street Night Market, Golden Bauhinia Square, Lan Kwai Fong, Noah's Ark Hong Kong and a lot more, however, it's true that "you cannot give what you do not have". I have never been in these places, that is why it is not included in my recommendation, but in the near future, if I will be given a chance to visit Hong Kong again, I will definitely visit the other spots too because I know that every spot in Hong Kong is worth the visit. xoxo

Love,

Marie
